Getting to the terminal in Aarhus
The high-speed ferry departs from Østhavn in Aarhus. Enter Færgevej 7A, 8000 Aarhus C as your sat nav destination. By car you reach the port via the E45 and Østhavnsvej; leaving the ferry, you rejoin the main road network the same way. You can park right at the terminal, with the parking areas run by Q-Park for a fee.
If you're travelling on foot, the covered Skywalk footbridge takes you aboard sheltered from wind and weather; a lift is available, and there's a kiss-and-ride drop-off zone in front of the entrance.
Check-in and departure
Molslinjen keeps things quick: with a Standard or Lowprice ticket, or as a foot passenger, you need to be checked in at least 10 minutes before departure; with Business BlueClass, 5 minutes is enough. Motorhomes and trailer combinations, as well as electric cars with pre-booked charging, check in 20 minutes beforehand, and coaches 15 minutes. Molslinjen recommends arriving at the port around 20 minutes before departure. Arrive too late and you lose your reservation, boarding only if space is available. On board
The crossing takes only around 80 minutes, so there are no cabins on this daytime route. On board the high-speed catamarans you'll find the restaurant Molly's Diner, the coffee bar Barista's Coffee Shop, and free WiFi on every ferry. You can pre-order food when you book, saving time when boarding. BlueClass guests also get to use the Business Lounge with views over the Kattegat.
Vehicle, bike and pet
Cars, motorbikes, motorhomes and caravans can be taken on board; you'll find details of the vehicle package in the guide Motorhome. Electric cars can charge at the Clever fast-charging station at Aarhus port while you wait, with charging booked in advance. As a foot passenger you can bring your bike free of charge, provided you reserve a bike space in advance.
Dogs are welcome on board and must be kept on a lead; cats travel in a carrier. At the stern there's a dedicated dog and picnic area, plus marked seating around Molly's Diner. Pets are not allowed in the restaurant. More on this in the guide Dogs and pets.
Arrival in Odden and onward travel
On Sjællands Odde the ferry docks at Oddenvej 388, 4583 Sjællands Odde. From there Route 21 continues towards Holbæk and Copenhagen; thanks to the expressway between Vig and Holbæk you can reach greater Copenhagen in just over an hour. At the destination port, too, Q-Park runs the parking areas for a fee.
