The Aarhus - Odden route links Denmark's second-largest city on the east coast of Jutland with Sjællands Odde in the north-west of Zealand, in just around 80 minutes. That makes it the fastest crossing of the Kattegat, saving you around 200 km of motorway driving compared with going via the Great Belt.
The route is operated year-round by Molslinjen with its high-speed catamarans, running up to 24 times a day between Jutland and Zealand. On board you'll find the restaurant Molly's Diner, the Barista's Coffee Shop, and free Wi-Fi. Getting to the terminal in Aarhus
The high-speed ferry departs from Aarhus's Østhavn terminal. Set Færgevej 7A, 8000 Aarhus C as your sat-nav destination. By car, you reach the port via the E45 and Østhavnsvej; leaving the ferry, you rejoin the main road network the same way. Parking is available right at the terminal, run by Q-Park for a fee.
If you're arriving on foot, a covered skywalk gangway takes you on board sheltered from wind and weather; there's a lift, and a kiss-and-ride drop-off zone in front of the entrance.
Check-in and departure
Molslinjen keeps things quick: with a Standard or Lowprice ticket travelling on foot, you need to be checked in at least 10 minutes before departure; with Business BlueClass, 5 minutes is enough. Motorhomes and cars with trailers, as well as electric cars with a pre-booked charging slot, check in 20 minutes before departure, and coaches 15 minutes before. Molslinjen recommends arriving at the port around 20 minutes before departure. If you arrive late, you lose your reservation and only board if space allows. The quickest way to check in is via the Molslinjen app, which lets you check in ahead of time.
On board
The crossing takes only around 80 minutes, so there are no cabins on this daytime route. On board the high-speed catamarans you'll find the restaurant Molly's Diner, the Barista's Coffee Shop, and free Wi-Fi on every sailing. You can pre-order food when you book, saving time on boarding. BlueClass guests also get access to the Business Lounge with views over the Kattegat.
Vehicles, bikes and pets

Electric cars can charge during the wait at the Clever fast-charging station in the port of Aarhus - book the charging slot in advance. As a foot passenger, you can bring your bike free of charge as long as you reserve the bike space in advance.

Arrival in Odden and onward travel
The ferry docks at Oddenvej 388, 4583 Sjællands Odde. From there, Route 21 continues towards Holbæk and Copenhagen; thanks to the expressway between Vig and Holbæk, you can reach greater Copenhagen in just over an hour. At the arrival port, too, parking is run by Q-Park for a fee.
Tickets and fares
Molslinjen offers the crossing in three fare types: the budget Lowprice ticket, which is non-refundable but can be changed for a fee up to a month before departure; the Standard fare, which can be changed free of charge and refunded for a fee; and BlueClass, which includes access to the Business Lounge, free refunds, and 12 months' validity on any departure of your choice.
