The Fynshav–Bøjden route links the island of Als in southern Jutland with Funen - in just 40 minutes. As a handy shortcut, the ferry saves long detours over bridges and motorways while giving you a break from driving.
The line is run year-round by Alslinjen (part of the Molslinjen group) with the fully electric ferry E/F Nerthus, named "Shortsea Ferry of the Year" in 2025. On board you will find a bistro, the Barista's Coffee Shop and free Wi-Fi. Getting to the terminal
The ferry departs from Fynshav at the eastern end of the island of Als. Set your sat nav to Færgevej 2A, 6440 Augustenborg. Coming from Germany, take the E45 to the Sønderborg exit, then follow route 8 via Augustenborg to Fynshav; it is around 60 to 70 km from the German-Danish border. Follow the signs to the ferry terminal, where parking is right at the quayside.
The destination port, Bøjden, lies on the southwest coast of Funen at Bøjdenlandevej 49, 5600 Faaborg, a good 10 km from Faaborg. Alslinjen is the only operator on the route, so there is no need to look for the right terminal. Foot passengers buy tickets from the machine at the port; staff are on site in Fynshav from 10:00 and in Bøjden from 10:30 until the last departure.
Check-in and departure
With a Standard ticket for a car, motorbike, moped, bicycle or as a foot passenger, you need to be checked in at the latest 15 minutes before departure. With a commuter or Bizz card and advance booking, 5 minutes is enough, while larger combinations such as a motorhome with trailer or an articulated lorry need 30 minutes. With a Brobizz, check-in happens automatically: attach the Bizz to the windscreen, drive into the marked lane and roll on board.
Fynshav–Bøjden is a purely domestic route within Denmark. Border checks or a passport are therefore not required.

The route is served by the fully electric ferry E/F Nerthus, named "Shortsea Ferry of the Year" in 2025 at the Ferry Shipping Summit. On board you will find a bistro serving smørrebrød, hot dogs and warm dishes, the Barista's Coffee Shop and free Wi-Fi with a solid connection. The spacious lounge offers plenty of seating, plus an area for children, so the 40-minute crossing passes quickly.
Vehicle, bicycle and pets

Arrival and onward travel
In Bøjden, the ferry docks at the southwestern tip of Funen. Faaborg is around 10 km away; from there you can reach Odense with its H.C. Andersen House, Egeskov Castle or Svendborg within a comfortable day's drive. Bøjden has no railway station of its own, so Faaborg is the nearest transport hub for onward travel by bus. Heading back towards Als, route 8 takes you back to Sønderborg and onto the E45.
Tickets and fares
Alslinjen offers the crossing in two fares: the cheap Low Price ticket, which is bookable online only and non-refundable, and the flexible Standard ticket, which can be rebooked and refunded free of charge. Both cover one car and up to nine passengers, with reduced fares for children. Booking early online gets you the best price; the booking window shows the current price for your travel date.
