denmarkferries.com is an independent comparison and information site for the ferry crossings to Denmark and between the Danish islands. It covers the routes from Germany via Puttgarden and Rostock, the direct connection to Bornholm, and the domestic ferries between Zealand, Funen, Lolland, Langeland, Bornholm and the smaller islands. Scandlines and Bornholmslinjen operate the crossings from Germany, and Molslinjen, together with its brands Alslinjen and Langelandslinjen, runs the island routes.

Denmark is one of the few countries where the ferry is usually optional. Nearly every leg has a bridge or a long way round beside it, so a crossing has to earn its place: 45 minutes from Puttgarden to Rødby against several hundred kilometres up and around through Jutland, or an hour and twenty across the Kattegat from Aarhus to Odden against driving the whole bay. On a handful of routes there is no alternative at all, and Bornholm, sitting out in the Baltic closer to Sweden than to Zealand, is the clearest of them. So the work here is the arithmetic per route: what the crossing buys you in time, what the vehicle costs you in fare class and declared length, and the rules that catch people out at the ramp, check-in deadlines, dogs on board, motorhomes and bikes.
