Denmark Ferry Timetable
Scandlines connects Germany with Denmark: Puttgarden - Rødby in 45 minutes (up to 47 departures a day) and Rostock - Gedser in 2 hours (up to 12 departures a day).
Two ways across the Baltic
The timetable above brings together the two direct routes from Germany to Denmark, and they are built for very different journeys. Puttgarden - Rødby across the Fehmarn Belt is the short, high-frequency link: the ferries run around the clock at close intervals, so you barely have to plan around them.
Rostock - Gedser is the longer crossing, to Falster, and in exchange the shorter drive for anyone coming from eastern or southern Germany. Ships run around the clock here too, but at wider intervals, which makes a look at the timetable before you set off more worthwhile.
What to watch out for in the timetable
Neither route pauses in winter, but the frequency varies considerably. In summer the operators add sailings, from November to March the schedule is thinned out, and it can differ on public holidays. So set your actual date above rather than carrying over a pattern from another month.
For the opposite direction, switch the timetable to the return leg. The departure times are not a mirror image: each route has its own list of sailings per direction.
With a vehicle it is not the departure that decides but the space on board. During the summer holidays and on long weekends the places for motorhomes and car-and-caravan combinations go before the passenger spaces do. A departure in the timetable does not yet mean there is room for your vehicle that day.
