The route is operated seasonally from April to October by Molslinjen with the high-speed catamaran Express 2 – one of the largest fast catamarans in the world, built at the Incat shipyard in Tasmania. The Ebeltoft ferry terminal is at Færgevejen 60, 8400 Ebeltoft, around 5 kilometres outside the town centre on the east coast of Djursland. The address works fine as a sat-nav destination, as does the search term "Molslinjen Ebeltoft". Arriving by car from Germany or elsewhere in continental Europe, take the E45 north to Aarhus, then routes 15 and 21 east; from Aarhus it is around 50 kilometres, roughly a 45-minute drive.
The terminal is well signposted and has a waiting area and toilets. Parking is managed by Q-Park and is chargeable. This route only runs seasonally from April to October; outside the season, use the year-round Aarhus - Odden crossing instead.
Check-in and departure
Molslinjen keeps check-in short: with a car or as a foot passenger, you need to be checked in at least 10 minutes before departure, the same applies to motorcycles. Travelling with a towed trailer or caravan, allow 30 minutes; electric cars with a reserved charging space need 20 minutes, and coaches 15 minutes. With a Business BlueClass ticket, 5 minutes is enough.

Arrival in Odden and onward travel
The ferry docks at Odden Færgehavn, Oddenvej 388, 4583 Sjællands Odde, on the Sjællands Odde peninsula in northwest Zealand. From there, route 21 (the Odsherred and Holbæk motorways) runs via Holbæk towards Roskilde and Copenhagen; you can reach the Danish capital in around ninety minutes. Compared with the Great Belt crossing, this shortcut saves around 200 kilometres.
